¿Ya os he contado que se han reeditado en español/english alguno de los títulos de Richard Scarry?, no sé aún cuántos de los posibles 300 títulos se pueden todavía encontrar... desde que aparecieran en los 70 sus libros en ed. Molino ... pero en esta ocasión y desde ya podéis disfrutar de una nueva versión bilingüe de EL GRAN LIBRO DE LAS PALABRAS en editorial KÓKINOS. Os dejo echar un ojo directo sobre la portada original, porque KóKinos no creo que haya acertado ... y desde luego no la ha mejorado.

El primero de los libros en el que aparecieron ilustraciones de R. Sacrry fue en Two Little Miners, y en 1963 apareció Best World Book Ever , donde se puede disfrutar de sus más de 1400 palabras/imágenes/objetos ...un deleite!!!

LA GRÚA

En todas las ciudades hay grúas, esas jirafas metálicas que mueven las cabezas entre los edificios más altos. Una divertida aventura de un tigre que desea conocer mundo y se va hasta los confines del bosque donde viven los humanos. Allí las cosas no van a ser muy fáciles pues se va a encontrar con unos ladrones muy malos y algo tontos que le van a complicar su aventura. Estamos ante un libro/PERLA con casi 50 años que no ha perdido ni una pizca de emoción.

László Réber's name has been linked to the name of a popular writer for generations. In the course of time hundreds of thousands or even millions have grown fond of the young boy who looks up to adults dutifully yet seems to observe them from above, and just as many people have learnt that they should appreciate the grown-ups' dull words of wisdom, platitudes, aggressive intrusions into their development and attempts to put an end to the eternal frankness of childhood. But the well-known boy in shorts of Éva Janikovszky's books was only a small part of the career of László Réber, who died at the age of 81. He was a draughtman who, with very simple lines, expressed everything that others need colours, shades and forms for. A kind of humour always showed through his drawings that made one smile gently. The title of a book of the once widely popular Chinese writer could be used to describe it: A Wise Smile.
